Haverhill 3 Carlton Park 2

Park started this game very positively and dominated the first half.

They moved the ball well around the pitch and pushed the home side into making errors.

The breakthrough came when Georgie Coulson drove down the right side and crossed the ball into the 'D'. The pass found Denise Manning unmarked and she struck the ball into the corner of the goal.

Park closed the visitors down and the only thing they could do in return was hit the ball up field and out of play.

On the break Park scored their second when Sarah Whatling pulled the keeper round and then passed to the advancing Vicky Le Fanu whose shot beat the defender and found the back of the net.

In the second half Haverhill had more urgency and immediately from the break gained their first penalty corner.

Park knew they would be strong on these and although Kirsty Marshall, who offered to go in goal due to the absence of the regular keeper, saved well it came back off the Park player on the post.

Park then lost their shape and started to panic and let Haverhill run at them.

Haverhill were then awarded a controversial penalty corner and again scored from this.

They sealed the victory with a goal from open play. Park were unlucky to get the draw when a late penalty corner saw the shot by Roo Mackie pushed the wrong side of the post by Vicky Le Fanu.
