DANNY Haynes has joined new caretaker manager Willie Donachie at Millwall, while the Blues are looking to sign George O'Callaghan from Cork City on loan in January.
Ipswich Town manager Jim Magilton last night said the move would be good for Haynes and help his long-term playing prospects.
Magilton said: “It is good for all parties. Danny is one injury away from being at least on the bench here but needs games and will play against Brentford for Millwall and, with us having a break for the international games, he will also play then, so it is ideal.”
Donachie, Joe Royle's assistant manger at Portman Road, took over from Nigel Spackman at the New Den after he left by mutual consent.
Meanwhile, Magilton told the EADT that former Port Vale midfielder O'Callaghan will join the Blues in the New Year with a view to making his move permanent at the end of the season.
Magilton added: “George is someone we like but he can't play until the window reopens so he is going to train here with a view to joining on loan in January.”
Alan Lee has been recalled to the Republic of Ireland squad that face Cyprus and Czech Republic next month, while Lewis Price has been selected for the full Wales squad that takes on Slovakia and Cyprus.
