Heybridge Swifts 0 Potters Bar Town 0
Heybridge Swifts cemented their Bostik North play-off place with a goalless home draw against second-placed Potters Bar Town in a feisty affair at Scraley Road tonight.
The Swifts have shown terrific stamina and resolve, despite a huge backlog of fixtures in recent weeks, to break into the top six and then stay there.
Jody Brown’s men are now three points clear of seventh-placed Maldon & Tiptree, and still have one game in hand over the Jammers.
The Swifts edged the first half and Lewis Godbold had an early close-range effort blocked by keeper Berkley Laurencin, while Matthew Price also went close with a first-half header.
Substitute Juan Luque nearly made an immediate impact with a long-range shot which keeper Laurencin clung onto at the second attempt, on a night when there were six bookings.
HEYBRIDGE SWIFTS: Jessup, Ramon, Stevenson, Abdulla, Henshaw, Baker, Chatting (sub Cawley, 90), Godbold, Price (sub Callander, 73), Ashford (sub Luque, 68), Gardner.
