CONSTABLE Country will play host to an exciting day of polo with teams from England competing against invitational players from Argentina today.
The inaugural Jenleys polo, sponsored by Colchester-based henleys estate agents, takes place at the Higham race course.
Organised in conjunction with the Dedham Vale Polo Club, the day promises to be fun for those with a serious interest in the game and also for those with a less than comprehensive grasp of the rules and regulations of polo.
“A commentator will be on hand to explain the rudiments to those of us whose grasp on the game is a little shaky,” said Gerry Lucey of henleys, who will be handing out prizes to all the players. It should be a fun occasion for both those playing and watching and there seems to be a real buzz of anticipation in the local area; now we just need some sun!”
The showcase match begins at 3pm with the henleys Cup taking place at 5pm.
