IPSWICH-born Dan Hipkiss and former Suffolk schoolboy Peter Richards are both in England's 30-man 2007 Rugby World Cup squad, announced today. Hipkiss, who grew up in Suffolk and played for Diss as a youngster, now plays as a centre for Leicester Tigers and recently made his England debut against Wales.

Hipkiss, who grew up in Suffolk and played for Diss as a youngster, now plays as a centre for Leicester Tigers and recently made his England debut against Wales.

Richards, who attended the Royal Hospital School at Holbrook, near Ipswich, is now a scrum half with London Irish.

Mike Tindall and Charlie Hodgson are the big-name casualties in the squad announced by coach Brian Ashton to defend the Webb Ellis Trophy that England won in Australia in 2003.

Nick Abendanon, Danny Cipriani, Toby Flood, Kevin Yates, Tom Palmer and James Haskell have also failed to make the final squad.
