Histon's Josh moves to Posh

JOSH Simpson has left Histon FC to join Peterborough United, initially on a two month loan, with a view to a permanent move.

A week after Josh scored at Mansfield's Field Mill he is expected to be on the bench at Saint James Park when Peterborough United travel to Newcastle United

Histon's new Chairman Tony Roach speaking on behalf of the Board commented: “Josh was a very popular and highly regarded player at Histon and he goes with our grateful thanks for all he has done whilst he has been here and our very best wishes that he makes a success of being a full-time player at Peterborough United in the Championship”

Josh is really thrilled that a week that has seen him driving a delivery van around East Anglia may end up with him driving through mid-field, in his inimitable style, at Newcastle's St James Park

Josh commented: “I always hoped I could progress further in the game but I never in my wildest dreams believed one week after helping Histon earn a point at Mansfield I'd be in the Peterborough United squad at Newcastle.”

Josh added: “ I really enjoyed my time at Cambridge City and my move to Histon enabled me to feature in the Blue Square Premier shop window with a great bunch of lads at a superb club where the fans have been terrific.”

Steve Fallon, fully aware that Josh leaves a massive hole to be filled was equally full of praise for Josh commenting “he's a great lad with a fantastic attitude and approach to the game and he fully deserves this exciting opportunity to progress to a much higher level in the game”
