HISTON full-back Lanre Oyebanjo has been called up to the Republic of Ireland Under 21 squad for their forthcoming European Qualifier versus Estonia

After impressing manager Don Givens when called up to the Republic of Ireland Under 19 squad, this is Lanre's first involvement in the Under 21 age group.

The game is away versus Estonia on September 9 so Lanre will miss the Histon away game at Crawley Town

Histon Chairman Gareth Baldwin commented; "This is a terrific achievement for Lanre and after his perfomances and progress since joining us is very well deserved. Lanre has done really well making the jump up to Under 21 level so soon after turning 19. He is a very popular player and everyone at the Club is really pleased for him and so very proud of him

"We understand he is the first player ever to be called up to the Republic of Ireland Under 21 squad from a club outside of the Football League.”
