Elba, the star of Luther, The Wire and Mandela, signed a pair of Ipswich Town teddybears, which the club are now set to auction off in aid of Children in Need.

The football’s club’s official Twitter account sent out a message to thanks the film star for his donation, which read: “A big thank you to Idris Elba for signing our #itfc teddy bears to auction off in aid of Children In Need!”

While Elba’s picture caused many fans to speculate whether or not the star was in fact a secret Ipswich supporter, he is in fact an avid follower of Arsenal.

Last season he joked he would “be physically ill, literally throwing up,” if rivals Tottenham won the league, prior to them ultimately being pipped to the title by Chelsea.
