Division 2N
Ipswich East Suffolk 1 City of Peterborough III 1
Ipswich East Suffolk's penultimate game of a hard fought 06/07 season ended with a draw at Tuddenham Road on Sunday, resulting in a guaranteed fifth spot finish.
IES started well, but it was the visitors who took the lead through good interplay from their forwards.
IES fought back well and scored after confusion in the Peterborough goalmouth allowed Borwick to slot home from close range.
The second half was even more fast paced, but neither side really trouble each others goals. Only Tingey, returning up front after injury, had a chance and he shot over the goal. Peterborough were kept at bay by excellent work by the defence who included Stu Gooderham and Nick Aveling in full-back positions. No chances were converted and the game ended one a piece.
IES travel to Norwich to play Norwich Union II, who are already relegated, on Saturday. 1pm start at Pinebanks.
