Ipswich East Suffolk 1 Lincoln 0
This was a must win game which saw IES make a determined start, moving the ball at great pace and consistently driving forward.
Stand in keeper Anne Edney fitted in well with the back line and Maria Whelan, who was the outstanding player of the day, provided the connection between defence and midfield.
Abigail Adams was welcomed back into the team as the holding player and in combination with Linda Rose and Ellie Mason worked hard to maintain the team's dominance in midfield.
As the second half got underway Lincoln made fewer forays into the home side's half but the winning goal remained elusive for IES despite some persistently skilful forward play from Sapphire Cutting.
The breakthrough eventually came with a short corner and a goalmouth scramble that saw Annette White finally pop in the much-needed goal that moves IES from the bottom of the table.
