IES Ladies II 1

Christchurch 3

IES always knew this fixture would be a tough ask but were delighted to go ahead, following much pressure. A well-worked short corner routine provided Ellie Eddy with the opportunity to deftly slot the ball home. Christchurch came back strongly but were kept at bay by strong tackling and distribution by Kerry Kemp. However, an equaliser came from a packed goal mouth.

The visitors' score-line was extended soon after the interval from a cross pitch pass which was latched onto by a speedy forward. On the back foot, IES continued to push forward and create chances. This paid off with the award of a penalty flick following the upending of Eddy. Unfortunately, the home side were unable to capitalise and a touch by a hapless IES defender saw the game put beyond their reach.
