Ipswich East Suffolk fielded a much-changed side this week against the team just below them in the league but were keen to keep up the standard of hockey played against Haverhill last week.
IES fielding five third team players started the brighter side, with the midfield quartet playing some determined hockey.
IES were rewarded with the opening goal from Cook following determined play from Simpson and Elsom before Harwich were denied a goal by an excellent save by the IES keeper just before half time.
The second half saw Harwich start the brighter putting the IES defence under pressure, but they stood firm until the final few minutes when Harwich scored a soft goal following a short corner.
