Two goals from Nikki Fuller and one from captain Sam Simpson secured Ipswich East Suffolk II a win on a very cold and wet afternoon.

IES welcomed back goalkeeper Emma Johnson after a long layoff while Keedle also made an impressive return to the side.

Determined play from the midfield quartet of Alexander, Elsom, Thorpe and Cook enabled Fuller and Simpson to cause the Grasshopper defence problems all afternoon.

Grasshopper attacks were kept to a minimum with strong defensive play from Moran, Burch, Keedle and Claxton, with Johnson coming to the rescue when the Grasshopper forwards got through the defensive line.

One goal separated the sides at half time, with playing conditions difficult for both. IES continued to play some very neat hockey, moving the ball well from defence through the midfield to the free running Fuller and Simpson.

Excellent saves from Alex James in the Grasshoppers goal and a final flurry of short corners after the final whistle saw Hayley James stopping the ball on the line to keep the score line at 3-0.
