TWO swimmers from Southwold's St Felix School enjoyed strong starts at the ASA National Age Group Championships in Sheffield this week.

On the first day of competition at the Ponds Forge International Sports Centre, Ellis Jackson won the girls 12 years individual medley (5.29.84) and came second in the girls 12 years 100m backstroke in a time of (1.07.36).

Meanwhile, fellow St Felix swimmer Charlotte Hicks grabbed second place finishes in the girls 11 years 1500m freestyle (19.18.75) and girls 400m individual medley (5.29.84).

More than 700 swimmers qualified through to the championships via the ASA Regional Championships earlier this year.

Participants are competing for national honours and selection to the English Talent Programme.
