IPSWICH completed a comfortable victory despite missing several regulars who were rested for the over 50s cup match. The youngsters drafted in however, performed well and Steward in goal was rarely troubled.
Ipswich started well and took the lead early on with Cutting converting. Despite constant pressure the home team's only reward was a tremendous strike from Reader.
Second half Ipswich stepped up the pressure but found it difficult against a packed and resolute defense. Askins' mazy runs created a number of chances but he added his name to the scorers before Reader struck home from a penalty corner.
