Ipswich East Suffolk IV 0 Harlow II 6
Despite a bright start, IES failed to convert and slowly lost ground to a free running, youthful side which went on to activate the score board with monotonous regularity.
Three goals to the bad at half time, IES made promises to each other which their bodies were simply unable to fulfil. IES created chances and threatened on several occasions to force themselves back in to the game but were thwarted by keeper, defender and woodwork in that order. At one stage, it seemed that the ball had developed an opposite magnetic field to the Harlow goal line which it simply refused to cross.

The game was played in good spirit but the final score line perhaps slightly flattered Harlow. This was a fine early December day, which will live in the memory only of those lucky enough to have the day off to do some Christmas shopping. Certainly those on the field will delete and erase at the earliest opportunity.
