Ipswich Inter-Firm Cup reaches semi-final stage

ALLPORT and Suffolk Police Veterans meet at Hadleigh United on Thursday (kick-off 7.30pm) in the semi-final of the James Hehir Ipswich Inter-firm Cup – a competition successfully resurrected by Suffolk FA a couple of seasons ago.

Other entrants this season were BT, Ipswich Postals, holders Churchill, J Breheny Construction Ltd, Suffolk FA Staff, ITFC Charitable Trust, ISG Jackson, Ipswich Borough Council, Customer Service Direct and Barnes Group.

The other semi-final is between BT and Ipswich Town Charitable Trust at a date and venue still to be decided.

Ipswich Postals and British Telecom have won the cup most times (five each) with Suffolk Police having four successes, Ipswich Borough Council and Willis three each, Compair Reavell, Ransomes and Steve Dores twice each and Guardian Insurance, Tooks, Listers, Grove Builders, Manganese Bronze, Crane Sports, Ranelagh Works, Electric Supply and Churchill once each.

There are two big cup finals tonight and best wishes to Benhall St Mary and Great Blakenham who meet at Notcutt’s Park, Woodbridge in the Suffolk Primary Cup and Coplestonians A and St Clements Hospital reserves who clash at Framlingham Town with a 7.15pm kick-off in the SIL Club Colours Cup.
