Ipswich IV 5 Cranes 0

Having secured the championship title the previous weekend, Ipswich were optimistic of playing some champagne hockey.

But, as is often the case in such scenarios, their performance failed to live up to expectations against a resilient Cranes team.

Three scrappy first half goals meant the game was virtually won by half time, but the second half turned into a bit of a battle not helped in Ipswich's case by Williams going off with a calf strain.

Further goals followed just before the end with Fisher completing another well taken hat trick and Scarff scoring for the fourth consecutive game. Cutting had scored earlier.

Unbelievably to many, but predictably to his team mates, Sebborn failed to convert any of his many chances. Crane arguably edged the second half thanks to some lax Ipswich passing and this forced Kwan to make some good saves, including one from a penalty stoke.

Despite the performance, this was Ipswich IV's 17th win out of 17, edging them nearer to their 100% target with three games to go. Next week sees a tricky away tie against Norwich City for Ipswich IV.
