As always, runners, joggers and walkers of all ages embraced the challenge, with the trio of Lynn Jacobs, Adam Glading and Audra Hogg all enjoying their first-ever experience of doing parkrun.

Further up the field, Wain, of Ipswich JAFFA, was first home in 18mins 02secs, some way adrift of his personal best of 16:57. He was chased by Gary Taylor, of Felixstowe Road Runners, who was second in 18:34, and Austin Vidal-Cocker (18:40) and Ipswich JAFFA veteran Steve Langley (18:43).

Laura Thomas was the first female finisher and seventh overall. She clocked 19:27 at what was her 50th Ipswich parkrun, and her 82nd parkrun in total.

Teenager Georgina Russell, of Ipswich Harriers, was second in 22:39 and Felixstowe RR’s Victoria Breadman third with 23:29.
