Every week, our panel of Ipswich Town fans will make their predictions ahead of the Blues’ latest game, with three points awarded for a correct scoreline and one point given for a correct outcome.

We’ll keep a league table along the way, before crowning a winner at the end of the season.

After Saturday’s disappointing result and performance the pressure is on Mick and the players to get a win tonight. Over Mick’s time at ITFC he has always managed to pull a win out of the bag when it is required to keep the fans and owner of his back and I don’t think tonight will be any different.

Hull come into the game after a great comeback win on Saturday, but I anticipate a relatively comfortable 2-1 win to keep us looking at the play off zone but with no realistic chance of making it, and Evans unsure as to whether or not to change the manager. Prediction: Ipswich Town 2-1 Hull City

Whilst I understand the frustration of some fans that McCarthy has fallen back to his defensive tactics, I think it’s fair to say that we’ve had some decent results recently.

Wins against Preston and Sheffield Wednesday and a draw against a Sheffield United side who have been doing well have helped us continue to pick up points and keep us in with a vague shout of making the play offs.

With all that in mind, I’m cautiously optimistic about tonight - it’s a game we should win and I’ve a feeling Mick may rotate the squad to give players like Cellina or Garner a run out. I’m going 2:0 to Town and, to be honest, will be disappointed if it’s anything less. Prediction: Ipswich Town 2-0 Hull City

Hull put a nice bit of distance between themselves and Birmingham in the final relegation place with a particularly barmy 4-3 over Norwich at the weekend and have one more point than Ipswich over the past six games. I’m hopeful Adkins takes a McCarthy type view with an important game over the aforementioned Birmingham on Saturday and prioritises that game over tonights affair at Portman Road.

It’s hard to know what to expect tonight given so many games so close together and Mick’s very short, sweet and prickly press conference yesterday - Garner will probably stay on the bench or be rested completely for Saturday, Carayol won’t be back until the end of the month, so it’ll be Waghorn up front, and on the basis of the past two games Sears would be a better partner than Celina. Surely Ward will start this one in midfield with Skuse and one out of Connolly, Hyam and Gleeson, with Knudsen and Spence wingbacks ahead of the normal back three.

The #ITFC twitter feeds want goals so it would be nice to see a change in approach with most attacks against Sheffield United starting with diagonal balls to the wingbacks and not much in the way of creative passing through midfield. Given the system I’m not expecting too much in the way of passing but hopefully Ipswich are good enough to get a third win in four. Prediction: Ipswich Town 1-0 Hull City

Surely something has got to give at Portman Road? Town have only managed two goals in their last eight at home but now face a Hull side that ship goals for fun. The lacklustre home form simply has to improve and this is a great opportunity to claim just our second home win of 2018, but the Tigers wont make it easy. Hull will be buoyed by their spirited comeback at home to Norwich on Saturday and will come into this game with renewed confidence of capitalising on Town’s poor home form.

Town have to be wary of the quality Hull have in their ranks, with the likes of Bowen, Grosicki and Dicko a formidable forward line on their day. That said, we have been very solid defensively since the change of system and Mick will do his best to stifle the Tigers, and eliminate their attacking threat.

I think the absolute need to win a home game will see Town through tomorrow night but like many fans, I’m just hoping for an entertaining game to revive a disinterested crowd. Prediction: Ipswich Town 2-1 Hull City

Can Town change their current home form tonight under the lights at Portman Road?

Hull will have plenty of confidence after their eventful win over Norwich, they will be well aware of our poor home form and will think they can at least get a point out of us. I hope we can get a home win as it would be a massive boost for our confidence but I’m going for a draw again. Prediction: Ipswich Town 1-1 Hull City.

Mick McCarthy’s Ipswich created an unwanted club record following the goalless draw against Sheffield United at the weekend - the first time ever in the club’s history that Town have gone four successive home games without scoring.

I don’t think that record will be extended against tonight’s opponents. Hull scored four against Norwich on Saturday and should be full of confidence, however I think this will work to Ipswich’s favour as we pick them off on the counter-attack. Prediction: Ipswich Town 4-2 Hull City

Alistair Rattray

With Joe Garner carrying an injury that seems likely to limit his involvement, along with David McGoldrick’s long term absence and Freddie Sears’ struggle for goals, Mick McCarthy probably has limited options when it comes to naming more than one attacker in his side.

Yet, after another feisty press conference following his choice of tactics on Saturday, it seems inevitable that the style will be broadly similar anyway. However, after only two wins and seven goals in their previous ten matches, Hull City’s surprise goal-fest at home to Norwich may well embolden them to adapt a more attack-minded approach at Portman Road, which may just open the game up enough to suit Town.

A narrow win against an otherwise poor team seems quite possible, but don’t expect that to douse the post-match fireworks. Prediction: Ipswich Town 2-1 Hull City

So the Tractor Boys are back in action! We will take on Hull City at Portman Road after the original game was cancelled due to the Beast from the East!

The Tigers are currently a bit struggling in the lower zone of the table as they are just six Points above the relegation zone… Hull come from a very crazy game as they beat Norwich by 4-3 however their currentperformance is quite weak with just a two wins in the last five games.

About ourselves, we come from a 0-0 draw with Sheffield United which unfortunately has been classified as one of the worst performances of the season. We must be back to our best performances like we did against Preston or Sheffield Wednesday! My prediction for this game is a 1-0 (Garner) win for Ipswich Town! Come On Ipswich! Let’s go back to the winning ways! COYB! Prediction: Ipswich Town 1-0 Hull City

So, the smidgen of hope has returned from whence it came. Town at home haven’t troubled the scorers for four matches and so it’s back to finishing above Norwich and trying to sneak a top-10 finish.

And on Tuesday night we welcome an in-form Hull side that eventually beat Norwich at the weekend in a humdinger of a game. Hull also love playing Ipswich. They’re ten without defeat against us and nine of those have been victories. Unlike us they still have something to play for as they try and escape a second straight relegation, a fate that looks like befalling Sunderland.

Despite not losing in five matches it’s difficult to be optimistic for a Town home match now as the free-flowing, fast and attacking fare seems to have long gone. The frustrating bit is that we know a lot of this squad can thrill. I can see Hull nicking it, sadly. Prediction: Ipswich 0-1 Hull
