Emyr Huws absent as Ipswich Town return to pre-season training

Ipswich Town players started pre-season training under new boss Paul Hurst at a sweltering Playford Road this morning.

Long-term absentees Andre Dozzell, Tom Adeyemi and Joe Garner all participated, though Emyr Huws, Teddy Bishop, Dean Gerken and Danny Rowe missed out as they continued rehab from surgeries.

Bartosz Bialkowski and Jonas Knudsen were also absent due to their current involvement with Poland and Denmark respectively at the World Cup.

Hurst confirmed that David McGoldrick has left the club after his contract expired, while the Blues are close to announcing the season-long loan addition of 18-year-old centre-back/centre-midfielder Trevoh Chalobah from Chelsea.
