Jonas Knudsen has been called up to the Denmark squad for two friendly games during the upcoming international break.
The Dane, who has two caps to his name, will be hoping to impress manager Åge Hareide as he bids to earn a place in his country’s World Cup squad for this summer’s tournament in Russia.
He has been named in a 24-man squad for the two home games against Panama and Chile, with the first played in Brondby on Thursday March 22 and the second five days later in Aalborg.
Knudsen was a late inclusion in the Denmark squad for their two-legged play-off clash with the Republic of Ireland, in which they secured their place in Russia, but has not won a cap since joining the Blues in the summer of 2015.
He is the second Ipswich player to earn an international call in the last week, following Bartosz Bialkowski’s first inclusion in the Poland squad for games against Nigeria and South Korea.
