JACK Ainsley has become the latest Ipswich Town youngster to pen a new deal with the club.
The 20-year-old defender has signed a six-month contract and revealed that he aims to prove to manager Paul Jewell that he is worth a longer deal.
Ainsley said: “The manager has said that it’s down to me to get my head down and show him I am worth a longer contract and that’s what I’ve got to do.”
Ainsley, who made his league debut in the opening day win against Middlesbrough, also had a month’s loan spell at Histon in November.
He joins Conor Hourihane in signing a six-month contract while Tom Eastman is yet to decide on his short term deal.
