GAVIN Williams gets his first taste of competitive action for three months tonight when he lines up for the Blues reserves against Peterborough United at London Road.
Apart from a couple of cameo roles in training games Williams has not played since rupturing ligaments against Panathinaikos at Portman Road at the beginning of August.
The midfielder will be assessed again tomorrow but his comeback may not be complete in time for him to face his boyhood team Cardiff City on Saturday.
Ipswich Town Reserves: Plummer, Sito, Wilnis, Synnott, Robinson, Upson, Trotter, Williams, Roberts, Bowditch, Rhodes. Subs Watson, Ward, Reason, Murphy, Clemo.
