ARRAN Lee-Barrett is set to make his first league start for Ipswich Town in seven months – becoming Town’s third keeper in consecutive matches.

Richard Wright is struggling to be fit for tomorrow night’s match at Burnley after suffering an injury following his third debut for the Blues at the weekend.

This means Lee-Barrett will come in and try and help Town win their first match in six attempts with American rookie keeper Cody Cropper set to start on the bench.

The injury problems that have inflicted both David Stockdale and now Wright puts Town boss Paul Jewell in an awkward position.

The Ipswich manager chose to sign 34-year-old Wright and pitch him straight in against Reading when Stockdale got injured, rather than call on Lee-Barrett who has been the number two the whole season.

And Jewell admitted: “He (Lee-Barrett) hasn’t played a lot of football – neither has Richard – but I just felt in training, Richard has been outstanding and that is what I said to Aaron.

“He was hugely disappointed but that is my decision. I don’t pick a team on sentiment, I pick a team on what I see on a Monday to Friday or what I feel might be right.

“I had a chat with him on Friday. He wasn’t happy about it but I didn’t expect him to be happy about it. But it is up to Aaron in training to get into the team, it’s as simple as that. I went for a bit more experience and as far as I am concerned, that’s the end of it.”
