Wily centre-half Morgan, who broke Town hearts with an injury-time equaliser in a 3-3 thriller at Bramall Lane last season, will not be repeating the feat this weekend.
The 32-year-old Yorkshireman injured knee ligaments during the Blades’ 1-0 home defeat by Coventry City last Saturday, and will not play again this campaign after a scan revealed cruciate damage.
Gary Speed’s men are just two points clear of the drop zone, with a mere four league wins to their name, while Town are just one point adrift of the play-offs.
