The fit-and-firing David McGoldrick is the Ipswich Town player that Norwich City fans would most like to have in the Canary ranks in Sunday’s East Anglian derby.

In a poll run on the website of our sister paper the Eastern Daily Press posing the uncomfortable question, McGoldrick attracted almost 40% of the 800-plus votes.

Martn Waghorn was next on 22%, with super stopper Bartosz Bialkowski third on 16%.

McGoldrick’s popularity should come as no surprise, the slick striker finally back to his best after long-running injury problems and has already netted six times this season.

- Northstander: McGoldrick and Celina HAVE to start in the derby

At his best, he is one of the most talented players in the Championship - and the Canaries will be very wary of him come Sunday.

In a poll asking Town fans which Norwich player they’d most like to see in blue and white on Sunday, attacking midfielder James Maddison was a runaway winner with 42% of the vote.

Nelson Oliveira was second - somewhat surprisingly, given his comments about Norwich being a ‘better club’ with ‘better players’ than Ipswich earlier this week.
