Ipswich Town: The Blues will travel to Stevenage in the Capital One Cup First Round, with the game to be played on the week commencing August 5.
Boro finished 18th in League One last season, ending the campaign under the leadership of Graham Westley who returned to the club to replace Gary Smith.
League One Colchester United will entertain Peterborough United who were relegated from the Championship last season.
Town and the U’s will discover the identity of their opening game opponents in next season’s Championship and League One respectively when the new Football League fixtures are released on Wednesday.
The new league season kicks off on August 3.
