FORMER Manchester United keeper Roy Carroll is training with Ipswich Town.

However, manager Roy Keane revealed during this afternoon’s Portman Road press conference that he had no immediate plans to sign the experienced 33-year-old.

Town are down to just two fit senior keepers, in Marton Fulop and Arran Lee-Barrett, following Brian Murphy’s pre-Christmas injury - Murphy is out for three months with a broken ankle, which will be operated on later today.

Keane said: “Roy Carroll has trained with us today.

“He’ll be with us for a week or two, because he is on his winter’s break from Denmark.

“But he’s just training with us, so don’t put two and two together,” added Keane.

Carroll signed a three-year deal with Danish side Odense BK in August, 2009. His previous clubs have included Hull, Wigan, Manchester United, West Ham and Derby, in addition to making 19 senior appearances for Northern Ireland
