Chance for players to be a hero - Jim

IPSWICH Town manager Jim Magilton said that Sunday's East Anglian Derby gives one of his players a chance to become a hero.

The Blues will be looking to collect their first away victory of the season and cement their top-four position in the Coca-Cola Championship.

The Town boss has a full squad to select from although Tommy Miller will have his ankle injury looked at today and tomorrow before a decision is made on whether he might return.

With another game coming up at Sheffield United on Tuesday, Miller might be saved if there is any doubt that he is not 100 per cent fit.

Talking about the game at Carrow Road that has gained the imagination of all East Anglian fans this week, Magilton said: “It will be a different day because of the pressure of the situation.

“Everybody will want to be a hero, and it could be a case of who wants to be a hero most.

“Last season we drew 1-1 at Norwich with David Wright taking the headlines after an impulsive move forward to score the equaliser.

“We want somebody else to provide a moment of magic that will hopefully give us the three points.”

Magilton is expecting a tough match despite the Canaries floundering at the foot of the table with just two league wins all season.

He added: “When we went to QPR they were at the bottom and they showed a great appetite for the match and stopped us playing to a certain extent.

“I expect Norwich, with a new manager at the helm, to do the same and am expecting a very tight match.”

Magilton confirmed that he has seen and spoken to the club's new investor Marcus Evans saying: “We have discussed the footballing situation at Ipswich Town and we are on the same wavelength.

“His arrival is great news for the club and it can only benefit all sections on and off the field at Portman Road.”
