IPSWICH TOWN have parted company with Cheick Kourouma by mutual consent.

The French midfielder signed a contract in September to keep him at Portman Road until the end of the campaign after impressing while on trial at the club at the end of last season and during the summer.

He has appeared for Town in friendlies and Under-21 games but failed to break into the first-team squad and it’s been agreed by all parties that it’s best if he moves on.

“We wish Cheick every success for the future,” said Town chief executive Simon Clegg.
