Two players linked with moves to Ipswich Town, and a reunion with Mick McCarthy, have today been transfer-listed by Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Captain Karl Henry and Irish defender Stephen Ward – both McCarthy signings at Molineux – have joined other big earners Jamie O’Hara and Roger Johnson on the transfer list.

Henry, who lifted the Championship title with Wolves in 2009, under McCarthy, would add competition in the heart of the Town midfielder, while Ward, who can also play in midfield and attack, was a mainstay under McCarthy, who signed the player from Bohemians in 2006.

We understand McCarthy, along with Crystal Palace boss Ian Holloway, is also keen on offering former Wolves striker Sylvan Ebanks-Blake a short-term deal, which would allow the striker, recovering from a broken leg, to prove his fitness.

Another Wolves player, who played on loan at Portman Road last season, Richard Stearman, is keen on a move to the Blues but the League One club’s valuationm of the player is thought to be far higher than Town are prepared to pay.
