PABLO Counago is set to sign on loan for Crystal Palace today, although he will not be eligible to face his old club tomorrow.

The out-of-favour striker will sign on a season-long loan, after which his current contract at Portman Road expires.

Manager Roy Keane revealed at this morning’s press conference: “Pablo will probably leave today. I expect to hear some news today, though of course he won’t be playing against us.”

However, the Town boss remains frustrated by the lack of new signings. No new faces will be at Portman Road before tomorrow’s trip to Selhurst Park.

“It’s all just talks at the moment. I’m frustrated. I think we need three or four new players, not just one. We need cover,” added Keane.

Keane is hopeful that Carlos Edwards might return for the Palace game, but Grant Leadbitter will definitely miss out, along with long-term injury victims Mark Kennnedy, Damien Delaney, Luciano Civelli and Connor Wickham.
