IPSWICH Town have arranged their Carling Cup third round game against Premier League Wigan Athletic for Wednesday September 24 at Portman Road.
Steve Bruce's Wigan are playing in a televised league match the previous Sunday, which is why Town have switched from their traditional Tuesday midweek home date.
This is the first time since 2002/03 that the Blues have reached this stage - when they beat Middlesbrough at home before losing at Liverpool on penalties in the fourth round.
