Delaney drafted into Ireland squad

DAMIEN Delaney has become a late inclusion in the Republic of Ireland squad for their vital Euro 2012 qualifier against Slovakia.

The Ipswich Town defender has been called up by Giovanni Trapattoni following an injury to Derby County’s Kevin Kilbane.

Wolves‘ Stephen Ward will start on the left hand side of the defence with Delaney on the bench. His new Town team mate, Keith Andrews, has been named in the middle of midfield for tomorrow night’s clash, which is on Sky Sports 3 (7.45pm ko).
