IPSWICH Town will definitely face Chesterfield in the FA Cup third round this weekend after giant-killers Droylsden lost their appeal against their expulsion from the historic competition this afternoon.

The Blue Square North side had been thrown out after it emerged that two goal hero Sean Newton should have been suspended for the 2-1 victory over Chesterfield in a second round upset.

An FA statement said: “The FA can confirm that today's appeal by Droylsden FC against their removal from this season's FA Cup was unsuccessful.”

Chesterfield, who boast ex-Blue Darren Currie in their squad, will now travel to Portman Road for the third round tie on Saturday, kick off 3pm.
