FORMER Ipswich Town star Kieron Dyer is looking forward to making a return to Portman Road.
Not on a permanent basis like his former West Ham team mate Richard Wright - not yet at any rate, but for the Hammers' pre-season friendly against the Blues on Monday August 4.
The England international missed most of last season after suffering a double fracture of his leg in a Carling Cup game last autumn and sat out a West Ham match against Colombus Crew in Ohio on Sunday.
He is raring to go against his home town club.
Midfielder Dyer, 29, said: “Once the pre-season fixtures came out, I noticed we were playing Ipswich and thought that would be a good game to pencil in for my return.”
Now back to fitness and suffering no reaction, he went on: “I joined in with everything in the States. We had a warm-up, a keep-ball session and finished off with a little match.
“It's been a very long time but it felt good and I'm absolutely delighted to be back.”
