GARETH McAuley is set to sign for West Brom in the next few days.
McAuley turned down the offer of a new contract at Ipswich Town a few weeks ago, enabling him to leave Portman Road on a free transfer.
The Northern Ireland international had been attracting the interest of Scottish Premier Division champions Rangers, but the 31-year-old is reported to have opted for West Brom instead.
It is believed that McAuley, a free agent, is close to signing a two-year contract with the Baggies, having originally signed for Town from Leicester in a 1.5m deal three years ago.
Centre-half McAuley made 127 senior appearances for Town.
