FORMER Ipswich Town goalkeeper Nick Colgan has completed a surprise move to Premier League outfit Sunderland.
Boss Roy Keane was know to be looking for an experienced stopper who could work alongside the younger keepers, but the move for Colgan has come out of the blue.
The 34-year-old has signed a one-year deal at the Stadium of Light, having been released by Jim Magilton this summer without making a single appearance for the Blues.
The former Chelsea, Reading and Hibernian player said: “It's a huge challenge which I'm really looking forward to. I got the call from the gaffer and he gave me 24 hours to think about it, but I think it took me about 24 seconds to decide!
