Ipswich Town are set to sign former Crystal Palace left-back Jonathan Parr, according to reports in Norway.

The 25-year-old Norwegian international is a free agent after leaving Selhurst Park and would battle it out with Tyrone Mings for a first-team spot at Portman Road, following Aaron Cresswell’s switch to West Ham last night.

Parr’s father and advisor Roger spoke to ‘Aftenposten’ in Norway and told them that his son was close to agreeing deal at Portman Road, having distinguished Bolton and the Blues as the most suitable clubs for his next move.

“We know there is a very good club, which has a nice stadium and a good crowd. Everything looks very positive,” he said.

Parr has also played for Norwegian teams Lyn and Aalesund.
