FORMER Ipswich Town target Richard Wood has joined Coventry City from the Blues' Saturday opponents Sheffield Wednesday.
The central defender has agreed a loan deal that will be made permanent in January.
Ipswich made a move for the central defender in August and were believed to be monitoring the situation after Wood was transfer-listed by the Owls.
Sky Blues boss Chris Coleman, who is understood to have paid 500,000 for the 24-year-old, said: I'm delighted to get Richard, who I have admired and targeted ever since I came back from Spain.
"I know there's been a lot of interest in him from other clubs, so it's great news that he's decided to sign for us and I'm very looking forward to working with him."
