Ipswich Town exited the Capital One Cup at the hands of lower-league opposition for the third season running, after a 2-0 defeat at Stevenage.
To make matters worse, Jay Tabb looks to be a serious doubt for the Blues’ Championship clash at home to Millwall on Saturday, after landing awkwardly on his shoulder and making an early exit.
Goals in the second half from Filipe Morais (penalty) and Jordan Burrow saw Graham Westley’s men advance to round two and Town’s poor run in the competition – which has seen them lose in the last two seasons to Carlisle and Northampton – continue.
