ARRAN Lee-Barrett will go into tonight’s crucial match at Burnley with the backing of his goalkeeping team mates ringing in his ears.

The current Town third choice keeper will play his first league match for seven months at Turf Moor after injuries to David Stockdale and Richard Wright.

The news of the double injury blow has been met by some concern among fans who are not entirely convinced by the 27-year-old.

But Lee-Barrett can count on the support of both Stockdale and Wright who reserved special praise for the Ipswich-born stopper.

Speaking before he was ruled out of tonight’s match, Wright, who was surprisingly picked ahead of Lee-Barrett for Saturday’s game against Reading, said: “We have got a good bunch of goalies who work hard and everyone wants to play.

“It is never a nice scenario. I work close with Arran, we have been working hard together. It is tough for him. “But the character he is, he won’t let it worry him. He will be working hard as you just don’t know.”

And showing some unexpected insight, Wright added: “Things can change very quickly in football and he has to make sure he is ready all the time. And I know he will be because he is a great pro.”

And tweeting last night, Stockdale added: “Hoping to do some more training this week, so back soon. Sure Arron will show his doubters wrong! Good luck ALB!”
