GRANT Leadbitter will tomorrow tell Paul Jewell whether he will sign a new contract at Ipswich Town.
The saga over the midfielder’s future is set to be decided before Saturday’s trip to Doncaster with Jewell warning that the 26-year-old will not play against Rovers unless he signs a new deal.
Jewell, who said he will speak with Leadbitter tomorrow, said: “I’ll be honest with you, if he’s in the team on Saturday that means he’s agreed to stay, if he’s not it means he’s moving elsewhere. It’s as simple as that.
“I’m expecting to know before the game. We’d love him to stay, but if he doesn’t we wish him well. It’s a big move for him.” Leadbitter has been repeatedly linked with a move back to the North East and Middlesbrough, who go into the final match of the season still looking to make the play-offs.
