PREMIER League survivors West Ham United will make their second pre-season trip to Portman Road in three years when they take on Ipswich in a friendly on Saturday, July 31.
A crowd of 17,000 fans witnessed a goal feast when the two sides last met in a warm-up match in 2008, with West Ham striker Dean Ashton scoring a hat-trick in the Hammers’ 5-3 victory.
Ipswich chief executive Simon Clegg said: “As part of our pre-season schedule Roy (Keane) wanted a high profile friendly against top opposition at home and we’ve got them with West Ham coming Portman Road.”
