WATFORD manager Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that he showed interest in taking Ipswich Town midfielder Veliche Shumulikoski on loan.
“But the interest had dwindled away now,” he said. “I shall be looking to bring in players in the summer, and he is an intelligent player and could come back into my thoughts.
“Ipswich were interested in a double swap and you will have to ask them who our player was. But it appears all over for the time being.”
Shumulikoski left for Macedonia's international games frustrated at only having been on the fringe of the Ipswich camp since Christmas.
He would love to be playing first-team football again, and could well be on the move before the next set of English club games on Saturday week.
Meanwhile Rodgers was pleased with his point. He went on: “We showed characteristics which are going to be very important if we're to be successful in the future.
“There was a steel and determination and some very good football moments, too. Overall, I'm very pleased with the progress we're making.
“It was a good point for us and maybe it could have been all three with a bit more quality in terms of our final pass.”
“We'll keep going and I certainly won't allow the season to peter out.”
