HOME-town boy Billy Clark has vowed to prove Paul Jewell wrong as he looks for a new football club next season.

HOME-town boy Billy Clark has vowed to prove Paul Jewell wrong as he looks for a new football club next season.

The promising centre midfielder was among a string of youngsters released by the Ipswich Town manager at the end of last season.

And while not blaming Jewell, it is this rejection from the club he has been involved with since the age of six which will spur him on.

Clark said: “I didn’t want to leave here and I was sad when I was told. But at the same time I was excited about playing first team football somewhere.

“Any released player would want to prove their old club was wrong. I just hope I can one day go back to Portman Road.”

Keep visiting www.greenun24.co.uk today for Clark’s revelations on what went wrong after he burst onto the first-team scene two years ago before disappearing without a trace last season.

He reflects on his outburst on Twitter, upon being released, and explains why the current reserve team set-up across the country is harming Town youngsters.
