The match was postponed after a parachutist got stuck on the roof of the David Fishwick stand, but the Blues were not distracted and claimed victory through goals from Liam Trotter, Kevin Lisbie and a Steve Jordan own goal.
Ipswich will next face promotion rivals Wolves back at Portman Road on Saturday.
