IPSWICH Town failed to get the season off to a winning start despite dominating large periods of the match at Coventry yesterday, eventually succumbing 2-1 to the Midlands club.

Clinton Morrison scored both of the Sky Blues' goals and, while Jon Walters pulled one back for Town, the Suffolk side just couldn't haul themselves level.

Ipswich now travel to Shrewsbury tomorrow night for the first round of the Carling Cup.
