Ipswich Town have explained why the first team squad were wearing Adidas tracksuits, as opposed to kit suppliers’ Mitre, at Reading on Saturday.

The company have experienced a delay with one of their suppliers and because of that, some of the playing and coaching staff’s training kit was not delivered in time for the new season.

However, they insist the kit will be delivered to Portman Road in the coming weeks.

A Town statement said: “Unfortunately due to a delay with one of their suppliers, Mitre have been unable to deliver some of the training kit for the players and coaching staff for the new season.

“Mitre have sourced alternative benchwear for the first-team on a temporary basis before the staff and players return to wearing Mitre kit when the final delivery is received in the next few weeks.”
